Ce nanoparticles as a corrosion inhibitor in Al 2xxx series alloys!

With great pleasure I am sharing to all of you the first paper performed in collaboration with the research group of Professor Hercílio de Melo in the field of corrosion of Al alloys 2xxx series.

In this paper we report that Ce-containing nanoparticles — when stuck to the inherent porous walls of anodized layers — are able to increase the corrosion resistance of an important Al-based alloy for aerospace industries: the AA2024-T3.
