Rethinking Radiation Effects in Solids

With great pleasure I would like to share our most recent paper, which just got published at the Journal of Materials Science, edited by Professor C. Barry Carter.

In this new article, we present an innovative methodology to rethink the way we investigate radiation effects in materials science: by using the Plasma Focused Ion Beam (PFIB). This is a bit of a crazy research that I would like to thank Dr. Matt Schneider and Dr. Caitlin A. Taylor (both at Los Alamos National Laboratory) for all the support!

The use of the PFIB for radiation effects investigations in materials science has been herein demonstrated by probing the amorphization of single-crystal Silicon: a classical experiment within the field of radiation effects in solids.

Any questions, concerns or ideas for experiments using such a methodology, please do not hesitate to send me an email at m.a.tunes[at]physics.org !
